Shri Uma Swayambhu Rameshwar Temple is located in Ramateerth village of Athani taluk, Belagavi district, Karnataka state, India. Devotees call this place a Dakshin Kashi of Karnataka. It is the Swayambhu lord Shiva temple. During the Vanavas, Shri Ram worshipped lord Shiva here, so this temple is called as Rameshwar temple.

            This is 800+ years old temple. There is no authentic data about when and who built this temple. But one of the caves located behind this temple is built during the Chalukyas period. Temple is built by carving the stone hill like Ajanta Ellora cave temples. Here you will get to see beautiful architectural designs, idols, and sculptures on columns, doors, and walls of the temple. 

        There are Some stone inscriptions in this temple. This is the Trikooteshwar-style temple (3 Garbh Griha and 1 Sabha Griha). Around 80 feet in height large Deepa Stambh (Light Column) is there in front of the temple and the big pond is there on the right side of the temple. Shri Uma Devi (Parvati) temple is located behind the Swayambhu Rameshwar temple. Besides the main temple, you will see some other small temples.
