             Shri Brahmanath Temple / Bhagwan 1008 Shantinath Temple is located in the Kagwad city of Belagavi district, Karnataka state, India. This temple is also called the Kaggudaray temple. Lord Kaggudray is the worshipping Deity of Kagwad city. Because of Kaggudaray, Kagwad name came to Kagwad city. In history, Kagwad was called Kaggud.

            A specialty of this temple is that it is a Jain Hindu temple where pooja is performed by Lingayats in accordance with Jain rituals. From the outside, this temple doesn’t look like a temple. It exactly looks like a Masjid. It doesn’t have a gopura like other temples. To get protection from Muslim invaders, It was built like a Masjid. This temple has 30 feet underground secret tunnel. On the ground floor, you will see Lord Kaggudaray and Kalamma Devi Temple. In the first basement, you will see Bhagwan 1008 Parshwanath Temple. In the second basement, you will see Bhagwan 1008 Shantinath Temple. This is a 1000+ years old unique and beautiful temple. Sunday and Amavasya are special days for devotees.

Ground Flour – Lord Kaggudaray and Kalamma Devi Temple

On the ground floor, you will see Lord Kaggudaray and Kalamma Devi idols. Also, you will see Lord Brahmanath at the entrance as a Kshetrapal.

Basement – 1 : Bhagwan 1008 Parshwanath Temple

In the first basement, you will see 1 stone idol and 2 marble idols of Bhagwan 1008 Parshwanath.

Basement – 2 : Bhagwan 1008 Shantinath Temple

In the second basement, you will see the beautiful stone idol of Bhagwan 1008 Shantinath tirthankar.
